Cadus Chardonnay

Cadus is a perfectly formed winery near Tupungato, in the shadow of the Andes Mountains, within the Uco Valley. This high-altitude region has quickly built a reputation as the home of premium Mendozan wines and the Cadus range is no exception. The soil profiles and compositions within the Uco Valley vary within short distances, allowing for different grape varieties and resulting in wines styles with unique characteristics.

Winemakers, Santiago Mayorga, has access to some of the best vineyard sites in Mendoza. The focus is on small productions of high-quality wines. Vista Flores is situated in the Uco Valley. Grapes are grown at an altitude of 1150 m.a.s.l in alluvial soils with traces of sedimentary rock and limestone. 50% of this wine is fermented and aged for between 8-12 months in French oak barrels.

From high altitude Tunuyan vineyards, this wine has aromas of citrus and stoney minerality. On the palate, this wine’s minerality really shines through where a defined steely character marries nicely with lemon and green apple fruit. A clean, textural finish, this wine is super bright with a finish of pebbles and salted butter.

Pairs wonderfully with trout, river fish, sole, lobster, seafood, cheese fondue, chicken in citrus sauces, rabbit and salmon stuffed pasta
