This classic claret is a Merlot-dominated blend (63%) supplemented with Cabernet Sauvignon (37%). Coming from a 12th Century château in south-east Bordeaux overlooking the Gironde River, the grapes are sustainably grown using methods that respect local biodiversity and the environment. A ripe, rich wine offering scents of blackcurrant and intense dark chocolate. It exhibits mouth-watering acidity on the palette, with slight grip from the tannins giving density and structure; hints of liquorice, strawberry and Morello cherry. Perfect with barbequed red meat or with a rich tomato pasta.
