Chateau Bauduc Sauvignon Blanc

Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, Château Bauduc, while the estate is renowned for its red wines, it is Blanc that captures the essence of Bordeaux’s elegance and finesse.

Château Bauduc has a storied history dating back several centuries. Located in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, the estate boasts a picturesque setting surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. Originally established in the 19th century, the château has undergone various transformations over the years, with a focus on producing high-quality Bordeaux wines.

The vineyards are meticulously tended, benefiting from the diverse soils.  The Sauvignon Blanc grapes, known for their vibrant acidity and expressive aromatics, find an ideal home in these limestone and clay soils. The terroir imparts a distinctive mineral character to the wine, contributing to its complexity and depth.

The estate’s dedication to sustainable and organic practices ensures the health of the vines and the integrity of the fruit. Once harvested, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing to extract the purest juice, which then ferments in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. This meticulous approach preserves the varietal’s natural freshness and aromatic intensity.

The wine reveals a bouquet of zesty citrus, tropical fruits, and delicate floral notes. The first sip offers a burst of lively acidity, with flavours of grapefruit, green apple, and a hint of passion fruit. The finish is crisp and refreshing, leaving a lingering impression.

This crisp, fine dry white has been the house wine at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and a special selection for Rick Stein for two decades.

An ideal companion to a myriad of culinary delights. Its vibrant acidity and expressive fruit profile make it a perfect match for seafood, salads, and light appetizers. The wine’s complexity also allows it to stand up to richer dishes like poultry and creamy cheeses.
