“30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, 10% Counoise, 10% Vaccare`se, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardin, Bourboulenc, Roussanne and 5% Cinsault. Aged in foudres for 12 months. Cask sample. Deep crimson. Fabulously aromatic with an intense and entwined combination of dark-red fruits, peony (which I more often associate with the northern Rhône), and a light sweetness of oak spice. Also a quiet, dark mineral/dusty quality that reins in all that lovely fruit. Compact but succulent, refined tannins. Already quite complex and a lot more to come. Fresh, elegant finish. Embryonically impressive. Drink 2025 – 2035. 17.5 points.”
