Known for crafting wines of remarkable quality and character, this historic property combines traditional winemaking with thoughtful modern innovations to express the unique terroir of Margaux. The vineyards, predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, thrive in gravelly soils and a favourable climate, producing wines celebrated for their complexity, elegance, and aging potential. Guided by a commitment to sustainability and respect for the land, Château Durfort-Vivens proudly upholds its legacy as one of Bordeaux’s finest
“Medium ruby-red color with a purple rim. Aromas are of weedy cassis, leaft red fruit and mulberry. On the palate nice acidity lifts leafy, fresh, pure, elegant red-fruit. Oak is very well handled, cedary & clean, but not drying. Alcohol is balanced while the finish is nicely rounded with good length. A nicely balanced & attractive wine that is typically Margaux.” – DCAMW
Château Durfort-Vivens 2000 pairs beautifully with classic Bordeaux fare such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, or duck confit. Earthy dishes like mushroom risotto or truffle-infused pasta will also enhance the wine’s nuances. For cheese lovers, aged varieties like Comté, Gruyère, or mature cheddar provide an excellent complement to the wine’s complexity
