Marcel Lapierre was a renowned winemaker and one of the pioneers of the natural wine movement in Beaujolais. He worked alongside his father and took over the family estate in the late 1970s.
Marcel Lapierre embraced organic and biodynamic farming practices, focusing on minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. His philosophy was to let the terroir express itself through the grapes and to produce wines with minimal additives or manipulation.
Made from 100% Gamay grapes grown in the Morgon appellation, the wine undergoes traditional vinification methods, including whole cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts. It is aged in old oak barrels and concrete vats to preserve the fruit flavours and maintain the wine’s freshness. The resulting wine is known for its vibrant fruit character, bright acidity, and elegant structure.
Marcel Lapierre wines are highly regarded for their quality and have become emblematic of the natural wine movement. They are often praised for their purity, finesse, and ability to age gracefully. The wines are released in limited quantities and sought after by wine enthusiasts around the world.
