The Maipo Valley, nestled between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, boasts a climate and soil composition ideal for cultivating high-quality grapes. The Santa Alicia Reserve Chardonnay reflects the essence of this terroir, presenting a wine that beautifully balances ripeness, acidity, and minerality.
The vineyards are located mainly in the area of María Pinto and Melipilla, longest part of the Maipo Valley, located closer to the coastal area having more moderate temperatures due to the breezes from the Pacific Ocean, preserving in a better way the typical aromas of the vineyards.
Harvest is done by hand. grinding, pressing in pneumatic press, musts decantation. 40% of the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks and the 60% ferments in French oak wood at a temperature between 13-14 ° C per 18-21 days. Once the fermentation is finished, the wine is preserved in wood and with yeast days for approximately 5-6 months and then make the final mix.
Intense yellow colour with golden reflections. An expressive and cheerful nose, citrus fruits like pineapple, tangerine and green apple. On the nose, a touch of vanilla and toasted almonds. The palate is fresh, plenty of weight with a lively, persistent finish.
A great match for seafood, particularly grilled shrimp or lobster. The wine’s creamy texture also complements creamy pasta dishes and soft cheeses, offering a delightful sensory experience with every bite.
