Wildeberg is a small farm in Franschhoek.  Wildeberg Terroirs is an expression of the most exciting vineyard blocks they work with in the wider Coastal Region. This is their first release of a Chenin Blanc from the long-established soils of Paarl Mountain and 60yr old vines.

Chenin Blanc from selected old, dry farmed bush vines, grown on Table Mountain granite outcrops that surface in Paarl’s otherwise deep sandy loams. The grapes comes 100% from Eenzaamheid (meaning loneliness), planted in 1977. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented back at the farm at Wildeberg, then aged for 12 months in new and older French barrels.

broad, savoury, complex nose with ripe stonefruit and citrus, aromas of straw, saffron and baked earth. Generous and textural with apricot, green plum and grapefruit, the richness of fruit balanced by tangy freshness and a taut, mineral seam on the long, focussed finish.

Great with grilled fish and white meats.  Also great with asparagus.
