Bodegas Finca La Capilla, an estate covering 60 hectares, encompasses several plots in a single vineyard of about 50 ha that will be expanded in the short term with a new planting project of 10 ha. The vineyard is distributed between La Horra, Anguix and Roa, an area of recognized prestige within the Designation of Origin to which the Tempranillo is perfectly suited.
La Capilla Crianza is a family-owned winery that embraces both tradition and innovation in winemaking. With a history that dates back several generations, the winemakers at La Capilla Crianza have deep-rooted knowledge and an intimate understanding of the land and the vineyards, which translates into wines of exceptional character and quality.
The winery’s name, “La Capilla,” is derived from the small chapel (capilla) located on the estate. The chapel symbolizes the winemakers’ respect for the land and the importance of preserving their heritage while continually evolving their winemaking techniques. La Capilla owns vineyards that span across some of the most privileged areas of Ribera del Duero. The vines thrive in the region’s poor, limestone-rich soils, which force the roots to delve deep into the ground in search of nutrients. This natural struggle results in grapes with concentrated flavours and a unique expression of the land’s character.
A delightful representation of the Ribera del Duero region. The Crianza offers an attractive bouquet of red fruits, combined with subtle notes of vanilla and spices from the oak aging. On the palate, the wine shows excellent structure, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish.
This will go beautifully with paella, mushroom-based dishes, or pair it with Manchego, Pecorino, or a well-aged Gouda. The wine’s tannins will help balance the creaminess of the cheese, creating a delightful contrast of flavours.
